Public transportation is essential for independence, yet many young adults with IDD do not receive adequate training. This study involves roughly 300 participants (ages 18-27) from eight community service organizations across the U.S. Participants will learn public transit skills, complete surveys before and after training, and provide follow-ups four months later. Primary outcomes include loneliness, social satisfaction, and travel skills, while secondary outcomes include employment, health service use, and quality of life. A Steering Committee of individuals with IDD, parents, and travel trainers ensures accessibility, while an Advisory Council of stakeholders supports implementation.
