The COVID vaccines are our best defense against COVID-19 along with other public health safety measures like mask wearing and social distancing. The vaccines are safe and effective at preventing COVID-19 disease, especially serious illness. The vaccines also make it harder for the virus to spread. This is very important because it limits the virus in our communities and slows the development of COVID-19 variants.
