{"id":311,"date":"2023-10-18T11:58:53","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T15:58:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/psacontest\/?page_id=311"},"modified":"2025-08-20T08:47:36","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T12:47:36","slug":"submission-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/psacontest\/submission-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Submission Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Content<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-bullet1\">\n<li>The video must be an original work.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The video must inform about a specific information\/cyber security and\/or privacy topic <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">and<\/span> help educate people about using the internet more safely, securely, and effectively (i.e., provide tips for practicing Good Digital Citizenship).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Videos must be understandable for the general public.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Video submissions must be in English.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Positive, action oriented messages are highly recommended and will be viewed favorably during the judging process. (Tone is important!)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Video entries should be exactly 30 seconds in length.<\/li>\n<li>Video entries must have end credits (not part of the 30 second PSA length) that list team members, their roles, and acknowledges any copyright materials.<\/li>\n<li>Video quality should be 1080p or higher.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Videos should use closed captioning for accessibility. Visit the YouTube help center for instructions to <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtube\/answer\/2734796?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">add captions<\/a>. All captions should be in English for English submissions. All captions should be in Spanish for Spanish submissions, and so forth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Video must use correct and consistent spelling, punctuation, grammar, and capitalization.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Code of Conduct<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-bullet1\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Videos must not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary right. Visit the YouTube help center for more information about <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtube\/answer\/2797449?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">copyright<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtube\/answer\/9783148?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fair use<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>A media consent waiver must be provided for <strong>each person<\/strong> in the team. <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/psacontest\/files\/2025\/08\/2025_Media_Waiver_PSA_Contest.docx\">Media Waiver Form<\/a>. Be sure to combine the waivers from each team into a SINGLE PDF file and upload it with your entry.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This contest is designed to showcase students&#8217; work and help the community improve information security and privacy awareness and education programs. The winning PSAs will be available for K-12 schools, colleges, and universities to use in campus security and privacy awareness campaigns during <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cisa.gov\/cybersecurity-awareness-month\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cybersecurity Awareness Month<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nist.gov\/itl\/applied-cybersecurity\/nice\/events\/cybersecurity-career-week\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cybersecurity Career Week<\/a> in October, d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ata privacy awareness efforts in January and February, student orientations, and throughout the year. To that effect, we will license all entries under the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-nc-sa\/4.0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. If you have questions about this contest, please contact us by email at <a href=\"mailto:care@temple.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">care@temple.edu<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"ace-line\"><strong>Video content must NOT:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul class=\"list-bullet1\">\n<li>Promote illegal behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Use inappropriate or obscene language.<\/li>\n<li>Discriminate against or support individual prejudice towards others along ethnic, racial, religious, or sexual ground.<\/li>\n<li>Invade the privacy of any person.<\/li>\n<li>Support or oppose a candidate for elective office or advocate for the passage or defeat of legislation or a ballot measure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Videos deemed inappropriate will be disqualified.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-bullet1\">\n<li>A link to the video entry must be provided.
