Ashley Pearce

Section Chief for CISA Cybersecurity Defense Education and Training (CDET) branch

Ashley Pearce has been working for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for over 14 years. She is currently Section Chief at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) for the Cybersecurity Defense Education and Training (CDET) branch. Her role is to provide strategic vision around training and education to assist in combating the cybersecurity workforce shortage.
Ashley started working at DHS after ten years of global experience managing and negotiating the details of high-level meetings and summits on four different continents and more than 30 countries. This work included managing protocols, logistics, and operations at international conferences for corporate executives and government officials.
A common-sense leader known for immediate and actionable solutions, Ashley shifted her career to security when she started a job as a contractor for the legacy National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) in 2010. She supported the Interagency Security Committee (ISC) under the Infrastructure Security Division (ISD), the Office of Strategy and Policy for the Federal Protective Service (FPS), then finally found her home in the Cybersecurity Division (CSD).
A Maryland native, Ashley graduated from the University of Maryland and enjoys running, CrossFit, reading and playing with her two kids. She is currently training for the 2024 Philadelphia Marathon.
