Matt Beierschmitt

Matt Beierschmitt holds an undergraduate from Rutgers University in Political Science. Matt worked seven years in Washington, DC in non-profit program management before moving back to Philadelphia and working the last eight years in non-profit development and is currently the Manager of Annual Giving at Project HOME. He is finishing up his MPP this summer and looks forward to continually growing in the non-profit sectors focusing on housing, healthcare, and advocacy.

Jason Linderman

Jason Linderman is a 4+1 Master of Public Policy student, who officially joined the program as a full-time graduate student after completing his B.A. in Political Science at Temple University in 2020. In conjunction with his Public Policy studies, Jason is also working towards a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Jason’s research primarily focuses on public policy involving community development, and gentrification. In addition to his studies, Jason also produces music and plays guitar in an indie rock band.

Lauren Klapper

Lauren received her undergraduate degree from Penn State University in 2015, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Print Journalism with concentrations in French and International Relations. She will graduate in Dec. 2021 from Temple University’s Master’s of Public Policy Program. Lauren is the Marketing Director for Shoe Fly Stores, where she’s seen firsthand the toll that COVID-19 has taken on small businesses. Over the past year, she has worked with Temple University, Harrisburg University, and Pennsylvania small business development centers on a number of initiatives to address the digital divide and spur economic recovery.

Kyle McIntyre

Kyle McIntyre graduated Temple University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science in 2020. Kyle is currently finishing up his Master’s degree in public policy from Temple University and plans to work in local government administration. During his time at Temple University, he spent over two years in political and community organizing working on numerous city, state, and national races. His love for public policy analysis stems from his 2018 internship in Albany, New York where he worked for a state senator. When not doing research Kyle helps organize and run a social justice and advocacy group in Upper Darby know as UDTJ. Kyle has a deep passion for research and public policy analysis and is currently interning with Rebuilding American Values.

Cassidy Tarullo

Cassidy Tarullo is a Master of Public Policy student at Temple University and will be graduating in May 2021. She also attended Temple University for her undergraduate degree, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Cassidy currently works at Health Care Improvement Foundation as Administrative Coordinator where she provides project support to the Population Health and Clinical Improvement initiatives and serves as project coordinator for a colorectal cancer prevention campaign as well as a member of HCIF’s Anti-Racism Council and COVID-19 Taskforce. Cassidy has a passion for social justice and aims to focus her future policy career in public health, human rights, social welfare, and more.

Chelsea Williams

Chelsea studied Environmental Studies and Sustainability at Temple University as an undergrad. While in undergrad she worked with the office of sustainability in their Surplus program, organizing unused and underutilized furniture. She also was a part of the leadership team for the Geography and Urban Studies Undergraduate Department Organization. Through her education, she has spoken at multiple local and regional conferences. She currently is the Director of Campus Network for the Post-Landfill Action Network, where she advises college students and faculty on ways to make their campus zero waste.

Advisor

Patricia Amberg-Blyskal

Professor Amberg-Blyskal teaches the MPP Capstone course, Policy Analysis Project. Pat received a Ph.D. at Temple University in May 2018. Her dissertation, Public Pensions: Retrenchment or Investment? Evidence from the States investigates the funding and underfunding of pensions following the 2008 recession. Prior to returning to graduate school, Ms. Amberg-Blyskal completed a thirty-year career in federal service.
