After Godzilla we traveled up to Nagoya and stayed there so we could zip over to Nagashima Spa Land. (I had leveraged a travel planner, Dave Sobczak at Holiday Road Travel<\/a>, to help with the accommodations to make sure they stayed within budget and had the ammenities I needed, such as western toilets, two beds etc. and this was the closest hotel he could find that fit our requirements – and he bailed us out twice when the hotels messed up the reservations. Note: I did not receive any compensation from Dave or Holiday Road Travel.) This was the largest park, by far, that I visited this trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steel Dragon 2000 is SUPER high. I was going up and thought, “Ok, this is about right” and it kept going and going! It was a very long ride too. (Not including Alpine roller coasters it’s currently the longest in the world, though that will change soon). Steel Dragon 2000 is the one on the right and in the background with the red track (yes, that’s the same coaster going all the way back there).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s also the one behind this loop. It’s one of the few rides where I understand why they made me take my glasses off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other real highlight of the park is Hakugei (aka Moby Dick, or the White Whale). It’s only about 5 years old and is super impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
