Fuji was wonderful, but it was time to move on, so we headed for the eastern coast – the Izu Peninsula. We booked a bus (the trains were sold out due to Golden Week) and headed over (not too long of a bus ride). It was a short stay which turned out for the best. Our main highlight was the SkyWalk with views of Mt. Fuji.
We also went to our first castle, Odawara Castle.
We also encountered our first covered shopping center. Who knew – Japan gets a fair amount of rain.
We did see some of the coast line and a waterfall (still featuring Mt Fuji interestingly enough, it dominates the skyline). Given we didn’t have a car we couldn’t make it out to the Jogasaki Coast … next time…)
