Why are we conducting this research study?
We are seeking to understand what factors may present barriers to community participation for individuals with serious mental health conditions.
Who can participate?
We are looking for people who:
- Are 18 years or older
- Have a diagnosis of schizophrenia-spectrum, major depression, bipolar I, or bipolar II
- Are living in the community (in other words, they can come and go freely from their place of residence)
- Currently receiving mental health services (e.g. psychiatrist, therapist, peer support)
What would you be asked to do as a participant in the study?
You will be asked to complete a one-time interview and answer questions on stigma, attention, memory, and the factors that may affect community participation. The interview will take about two hours to complete. Participants will receive $30 in the form of cash or gift card upon completing the interview for their time and effort.
