On October 9, 2023, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) signed a collaborative agreement with Temple University, officially launching the selection process for candidates for its new scholarship program, beginning 2024. CSC previously funded visiting research scholars at Temple, but this agreement expands our cooperation. CSC will now also provide support to degree-seeking students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the agreement, up to 60 Chinese students will be selected and funded to attend Temple University in Philadelphia, including 20 doctoral and 40 master’s degree students. The students will hail from over 100 major universities, including Tsinghua University and Peking University, as well as administrative organizations, scientific research institutions, domestic enterprises and public institutions across China. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Establishing a partnership with the CSC and joining the ranks of international institutions eligible for CSC funding is a major accomplishment for Temple. \u201cThis agreement,\u201d said Emilia Zankina, Temple\u2019s vice provost for Global Engagement and dean of Temple Rome, \u201cdemonstrates and helps fulfill our commitment to international education and accessibility. Our signing will benefit all Temple schools and colleges.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Illustrating how that benefit at one of Temple\u2019s schools and colleges will work, John Smagula, assistant dean for Graduate and International Programs at Temple law school said, \u201cCollaborating with the CSC will further elevate our law school\u2019s outreach in China and increase the number of outstanding students who will become a part of the Temple family.\u201d He added, \u201cThis continues Temple law school\u2019s wide recognition for our cooperative education programs in China for the past 25 years.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Temple University will collaborate closely with our partners in China to implement this agreement and looks forward to the arrival of the first batch of CSC-funded students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
