Hofmann, president of TUM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hofmann bestowed this honor on Thatcher, who he cited as \u201ca renowned scientist\u201d and \u201cone of our excellent research alumni,\u2019 at a ceremony on July 17 at TUM\u2019s vivat TUM concert.
