The world is a fascinating and important place, so I like to dive in and learn more about it.
My substantive research focuses on how campaigns encourage citizens to vote, volunteer, donate, and participate broadly. In Latin America, I use survey experiments to understand how vote buying is employed by campaigns and its consequences. In the United States, I work with campaigns to conduct field experiments measuring the effectiveness of particular tactics.
My teaching seeks to walk students through the logic of research design and teach them to be savvy consumers and producers of research.
