What is NeuroHIV?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

NeuroHIV<\/strong> is an umbrella term for nervous system problems<\/strong> that people living with HIV<\/strong> may experience. It includes memory and thinking problems, nerve problems, and mental health conditions. NeuroHIV adds to the health challenges of living with HIV. <\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Both HIV and NeuroHIV have a larger impact on communities of color. These communities have less access to health care and are more likely to experience other challenges that can affect health, such as poverty.<\/span><\/p>

What is the Community Partnership Core?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Comprehensive NeuroHIV Center (CNHC)<\/a><\/span> is a research center at Temple and Drexel Universities that is funded by the National Institutes of Health.<\/span><\/p>

The Community Partnership Core (CPC)<\/strong> is part of the CNHC. Its mission is to help bridge the gap between NeuroHIV research and the community.<\/span><\/p>

Who We Are: <\/strong>The CPC creates partnerships between community providers, people living with HIV, and NeuroHIV researchers. Together, we are working to reduce NeuroHIV complications in communities that are most affected.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Our Mission Statement: <\/strong>The CPC’s mission is to create two-way communication channels to inform NeuroHIV science, engage affected communities in NeuroHIV research, and provide resources to those most impacted by NeuroHIV.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
