This award celebrates innovative research, impactful teaching, and leadership in advancing the boundaries of bioengineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The applicant must hold a tenure-track or equivalent faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The applicant must be within the first five years of their faculty appointment at the time of submission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Curriculum Vitae (CV)<\/strong>: Including a list of publications, research funding, awards, and leadership and DEI activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cover Letter<\/strong>: A brief statement (2 pages max) highlighting your main achievements in research, teaching and service&nbsp;<strong>before<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>after<\/strong>&nbsp;establishing your independent laboratory.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research Abstract<\/strong>: to be presented at NEBEC 2026, Emerging Investigators Session.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please submit all three documents as a single PDF named \u201clast name_EIA_NEBEC 2026\u201d to <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:nebec@temple.edu\"><strong>nebec@temple.edu<\/strong><\/a> <strong>with Subject line mentioning: \u201cEIA Award Nomination\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Award Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The recipient will be invited to deliver a 15 min talk during NEBEC 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A certificate will be awarded, and the conference registration fee will be waived.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The winner will be featured on the NEBEC website and in promotional materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline for Submission<\/strong>: February 25<sup>th<\/sup> 2026.<br><br><em>Applicants to this Award are also welcome to submit their abstract for a Poster or Oral Communication through the regular Abstract Submission Tab, to have a chance to present their work at the conference even if they are not&nbsp; selected for the Award.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Join us at NEBEC 2026 to celebrate the achievements of emerging leaders in bioengineering!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item\"><summary class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__title\"><div><strong>Undergraduate Senior Design Awards<\/strong><\/div><\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and eligible submissions will be selected for poster presentation. Once at the conference, the presenters will be judged by a panel of faculty and industrial representatives. They will be judged for their technical content (Problem statement and need, design details, verification, ethical, regulatory and societal consideration, and impact), presentation and delivery. At the Awards and closing ceremony, first ($1000), second ($700), and third ($500) places will be announced.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item\"><summary class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__title\"><div><strong>High School Poster Awards<\/strong><\/div><\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and eligible submissions will be selected for poster presentation. Once at the conference, the presenters will be judged by a panel of faculty representatives. They will be judged for their technical content, presentation and delivery.
