Guidelines for NEBEC Authors

Podium Presentation

  • Preparation:
    Prepare your presentation using PowerPoint in a 16:9 aspect ratio.
  • Mandatory Disclosure:
    Include a disclosure slide as the first or second slide stating any financial conflicts of interest, or indicate “Nothing to disclose.”
  • Timing:
    Presentations must adhere to the allotted time of 10–12 minutes, followed by 3 minutes for Q&A.
  • Submission & Arrival:
    Bring your presentation on a USB drive and arrive 15 minutes prior to your session to upload your slides and check in with the session moderator.
  • Slide Design:
    Ensure slides are clear and legible, using a minimum 30-point font. Emphasize visuals over text and limit the use of bullet points.
  • Delivery:
    Use the provided microphone, stand center stage, and utilize a laser pointer to highlight key visual elements.
  • Information regarding your Session date and presentation time will be communicated by April 1.

 Poster Presentation

  • Applies to general and high school posters
  • Posters must fit on a 30 × 40 inch (portrait orientation) foam board.
  • Content should be concise, visually engaging, and effectively summarize the research.
  • Posters must include clearly labeled sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
  • The following elements are required:
    • Title
    • Authors
    • Author Affiliations
    • References
    • Funding source(s)
  • Each poster will be assigned a poster number.
  • Information regarding display and removal times will be communicated by April 1.

Senior Design Poster

  • Posters must fit on a 30 × 40 inch (portrait orientation) foam board.
  • Content should be concise, visually engaging, and effectively summarize the research.
  • Posters must include clearly labeled sections: Problem Statement, Design Requirements, Design Approach, Testing and Validation, Future Work
  • The following elements are required:
    • Title
    • Authors
    • Author Affiliations
    • References
    • Funding source(s)
  • Each poster will be assigned a poster number.
  • Information regarding display and removal times will be communicated by April 1.
