Undergraduate Students

Olivia Bishop

Olivia joined the Mood and Cognition Lab in the spring semester of her freshman year. She’s currently a senior pursuing a Psychology major, French minor, and American Sign Language certificate. Olivia hopes to eventually pursue a PhD in child and adolescent clinical psychology, specifically focusing on mental health and cognitive functioning in minority youth. In her free time, she loves to read, draw, drink tea, and cuddle with any animal she can get her hands on!

Georgia Martin

Georgia is a senior psychology major who joined the lab in the fall semester of 2021. Post graduation, she is planning to pursue a PsyD degree to work with clinical populations. She is interested in the relationship between the mind and the body, with a particular focus on how that relationship interacts with the development and course of affective disorders. Outside of the lab, she can likely be found reading (especially murder mysteries), baking, or talking with friends.

Jess Caampued

Jess is a senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Digital Media Engagement. She joined the Mood and Cognition Lab during the fall semester of her junior year. Jess is interested in clinical psychology in children and adolescents, as well as promoting mental health. In addition to psychology, Jess also has an interest in the field of advertising. Outside of lab, Jess is a marketing intern for the Old City District, and is a member of the Temple University Diamond Marching Band and the music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota.

Jessica Saftlas

Jessica joined the Mood and Cognition lab in the fall semester of her junior year. She is currently a senior pursuing a Psychology major and Cognitive Neuroscience minor. She hopes to pursue a career in clinical psychology, specifically focusing on the treatment and prevention of depression in youth. In her free time, Jessica volunteers for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, enjoys hiking, photography, and movie nights!

Adriana Marchewski

Adriana joined the Mood and Cognition Lab in the Spring of 2022. She is a senior Psychology major and Public Health minor in the honors college. Her research interests include addiction disorders and reward processing, as well as harm reduction for PWUD. She hopes to pursue a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in the future. Outside of the lab, Adriana is a part of Delta Alpha Pi Honors Society and Temple Climbing Club. In her free time, she enjoys reading, jigsaw puzzles, rock climbing, and spending time with her dogs.

Melissa Peters

Melissa is a 4th year Neuroscience major and a Clinical and Health Psychology minor. Her future plans are to go to graduate school for forensic psychology. Outside of the lab she likes to ski, spend time with friends/family and read.

Sierra Saint

Sierra is a junior year Psychology major with a Spanish minor and has been at the lab since the Spring 2022 semester. They currently work as a support specialist for people with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities and would like to continue to work in behavioral health as a behavioral specialist or counselor after graduating. When they aren’t working, you can find them in the garden, at antique fairs and flea markets, and checking out the local rock bands in the Philly area.

Yuliana Fartachuk

Yuliana joined the Mood and Cognition lab in the Spring of 2021. She is a sophomore pursuing a degree in Psychology and a Neuroscience minor. Her interest in psychology and research stemmed from the lack of understanding of mental disorders in our society. After graduating in 2025, Yuliana is planning to earn a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. Outside of the lab, she is the social media coordinator for the Psychology Majors Association, an Honors admissions ambassador, the Vice President of the TU Ukrainian Society, and a member of the Owlchestra. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and listening to music.

Sarah Indyk

Sarah is a Senior Psychology major from McKeesport, Pennsylvania. This is her first year in the lab and she is very excited to be a part of the team. She is planning to pursue an M.A. in Public Health next year and wants to get her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Social Work. She is interested in research regarding Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, OCD and Psychosis, Bipolar Disorders, Disordered Eating, Allergy and Asthma, Inflammation, and Self-Regulation in Adolescents and Adults. She is passionate about community health and health equity. Her goal is to work with physically and mentally impaired communities to help improve their quality of life. She is the Vice President of the Psychology Majors Association and the Communications Chair for Project Heal here at Temple. Through her career, she hopes to advocate for policies that better the lives of those with mental health disorders and chronic health issues.

Angelina Tocchet

Angelina is a senior psychology major with a minor in public health. Angelina’s future plans are to attend graduate school for clinical psychology to work as a therapist in colleges and hospitals. Outside the lab, Angelina is one of the presidents of TUPAW (Temple University Peers for Animal Welfare) and enjoys exploring new restaurants and hiking spots.

Jenna Lowe

Jenna is currently a junior pursuing a psychology major with a cognitive neuroscience minor. Her research interests include behavioral psychology, child and adolescent psychology, and the development of psychopathology. She spends her free time with her puppy Apollo, listening to music, and baking. Jenna is also a member of the Temple cheerleading team!

Neil Chaturvedi

Neil is a current junior at Temple University, studying Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. His current research interests are Bipolar 2 and Depression and plans to work as a clinical psychiatrist after graduating and further studies. Outside of the lab, Neil enjoys spending time with family, working with cars, and working with his organizations and fraternity.

Arielle Lightbourne

Arielle joined the Mood and Cognition Lab in the fall semester of her senior year. She is currently a senior Psychology major, with a minor in Cognitive Neuroscience and a Certificate in Spanish. After graduation Arielle wants to pursue a career in research, specifically looking at risk factors for various mental illnesses. Outside of the lab she teaches group fitness classes and is a Temple Cheerleader.

Bridget Wheeler

Bridget is a Senior majoring in Neuroscience in the College of Liberal Arts. She is preparing for a future as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with a passion for improving the holistic health of individuals in vulnerable patient populations. Outside of the lab Bridget works as a Certified Nursing Assistant and volunteers through the Philadelphia VA hospital and Archdiocese of Philadelphia CYO athletic programs. She enjoys spending as much time as possible with family and friends and can always be seen with a big smile on her face!
