Among other activities, I develop and implement plans aimed at improving the quality of the education delivered and research performed in our college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My general responsibilities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Serve as the chief academic and financial leader of a complex college, and advance the teaching, research, and service missions of CST.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a strategic, shared vision, in accordance with the University&#8217;s strategic plan, to position the College as a leader in innovative research and science education nationally and globally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a strong presence within and on behalf of the College and the University, and serve as the public face of CST, communicating at all levels\u2014with faculty, students, staff, alumni, employers, donors, funding agencies, public officials, and others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with Department Chairs, Directors of Centers and Institutes, and other College leaders to recruit, develop, and retain strong research and teaching faculty who are aligned with the distinctive culture and goals of the College and who have a demonstrated passion for and experience in both scholarship and teaching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster collaboration across the University&#8217;s schools and colleges, not only among faculty, but also among Ph.D., graduate, and undergraduate students, as well as post-docs and visiting scholars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue to advance the College&#8217;s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, with a commitment to promoting an environment that provides equal opportunities for all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate meaningful engagement with alumni to deepen their connections to current students and work collaboratively to foster philanthropy and build external relationships and support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build the national eminence of the College of Science and Technology and its commitment to advancing research and education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"518\" height=\"272\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/miguel\/files\/2024\/03\/Outlook-signature_.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-120\" style=\"width:213px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/miguel\/files\/2024\/03\/Outlook-signature_.png 518w, https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/miguel\/files\/2024\/03\/Outlook-signature_-300x158.png 300w, https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/miguel\/files\/2024\/03\/Outlook-signature_-500x263.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 518px) 100vw, 518px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a88f0426fa7e408084b4ef31d541aa26\"><strong>Miguel A.
