Temple offers a variety of resources to support your research. As you begin developing your research question, it is strongly recommended that you contact irb@temple.edu with a brief overview of your idea to ask what type of review would be necessary.
If you plan to collect and store data as part of your research, we recommend reviewing Temple Libraries’ guide to REDCap and REDCap’s informational videos.
Temple’s Office of Research Compliance offers support and guidance for researchers including:
- CITI Training is required for research study team members whose work incorporates human subjects.
- Research proposals are managed through Temple’s Electronics Research Administration (ERA) site. New users can request a profile by logging in with their Temple credentials and following the prompts.
- Templates and forms to assist with ERA submission.
- Responsible conduct of research policy and trainings.
- Research development resources including internal and external funding opportunities.
Temple University Libraries offer a variety of resources and tools to support your research including:
- Events related to research and links to video recordings of past events.
- Community Health Database (CHDB) Data Portal
Philadelphia Health Management Corporation’s (PHMC) CHDB Data Portal allows users to download CHDB data sets, codebooks, and survey instruments including: the 2018-2019 Southeastern Pennsylvania Household Health Survey, previous household health survey data files (2015-1998), and the Demographic product files. - Community Health Database (CHDB) Tool
The PHMC CHDB Tool allows users to do queries of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Household Health Survey by geographic region (county, ZIP code), key health indicators, and demographic characteristics (race/ethnicity, age, gender, health insurance status, poverty status). - Systematic Review Research Service
The Literature Search Service is designed for Temple University Health Sciences or Temple University Hospital faculty or staff who plan to publish their review. The service includes a variety of review types.
