She then spent two years in Baltimore, MD at the National Institute on Drug Abuse studying experiential similarities between addiction and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) using digital real-time methods (e.g., ecological momentary assessment, smartphone sensors, and social media language). In the MAD Lab, she continues to study the intersection of addictive and dysregulated behaviors, with a particular emphasis on NSSI, suicide, and substance use. Her dissertation, funded by an F31 grant from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, focuses on smartwatch predictors of binge drinking in college students. In her free time, she enjoys running, being in nature, exploring the city, and a good craft beer scene.

email: Mckenzie.himelein.wachowiak@temple.edu

Kenzie Himelein-Wachowiak is a sixth-year doctoral candidate currently completing her clinical internship at the VA in Tacoma, WA.She received her B.A. in neuroscience with a…

Continue readingKenzie Himelein-Wachowiak

["post-1287","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry","entry
["GET
