Coming to Realization

Initially as you all knew I had a few topics in mind. Now, I have finally dwelled down on my final topic after further thought and taking my interest into consideration. I decided to go with the topic of the “Misconception of Black Athletes”. Per my interests I think this topic will be really interesting to tackle especially because it’s being based right on Temple campus. This will give me and my audience the chance to hear out these student athletes to see what they have to say in regards to these myths.

I know last week I said I wanted to record and do the entire production myself but now I’m thinking I might want to add some crew so I won’t overwhelm myself. I’m not sure what different crew members I would want though but that’s too be determined. Im honestly really excited to bring this project to life. I’ve already been stopping different athletes I see when walking to and from class asking if they would want to be a part of my doc and I’ve gotten quite a few yeses.

Over this past weekend I watched a few trailers too documentaries featuring black athletes and it gave me some ideas about how I want to potentially design my documentary. ” Black Ice” an ice hockey film featuring black hockey players was one of my favorites to watch. Some of the players spoke about the adversity they faced all because they were black playing ice hockey. This film opened up my eyes to ways I could potentially get my point across overall.
