Boathouse Row is one of Philadelphia\u2019s iconic must-see spots and a <\/span>National Historic Landmark<\/span><\/a>. But how much do you actually know about its history and the evolution of rowing in Philadelphia?<\/span><\/p>\n

Join us <\/span>Tuesday, February 13 at 3:30 PM<\/b> at Paley Library to hear Dotty Brown<\/span><\/a>, author of <\/span>Boathouse Row: Waves of Change in the Birthplace of American Rowing<\/span><\/i><\/a>, <\/span><\/i>speak about this fascinating history.\"\"<\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n

Dotty is an avid rower and former editor at the <\/span>Philadelphia Inquirer, <\/span><\/i>and her<\/span> book, published by <\/span>Temple University Press<\/span><\/a>, features beautiful photographs and provides a <\/span>comprehensive history of rowing in Philadelphia as it evolved into the sport we watch along the Schuylkill River today. <\/span>For a preview of Dotty\u2019s talk, check out this <\/span>video<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brian Perkins<\/span><\/a>, head coach for the Temple men\u2019s crew team, will be on hand to introduce Dotty. Copies of <\/span>Boathouse Row<\/span><\/i> will be for sale in the lobby, and Dotty will be signing books after the program. <\/span><\/p>\n
