{"id":15939,"date":"2023-11-10T19:17:40","date_gmt":"2023-11-10T19:17:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/librarynews\/?p=15939"},"modified":"2023-11-10T19:17:40","modified_gmt":"2023-11-10T19:17:40","slug":"temple-libraries-hosts-universitys-inaugural-research-resources-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/librarynews\/2023\/11\/10\/temple-libraries-hosts-universitys-inaugural-research-resources-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Temple Libraries Hosts University\u2019s Inaugural Research Resources Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">On October 24<sup>th<\/sup>, 2023 Charles Library hosted the first ever Research Resources Day, a collaboration between <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/library.temple.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Temple University Libraries and University Press<\/a> (TULUP), the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/research.temple.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Office of the Vice President for Research<\/a> (OVPR), and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/its.temple.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Information Technology Services<\/a> (ITS). Though this was the first event of its kind, the three leaders pledged to work closely to meet the needs of researchers, and continue hosting similar public events to promote resources, build connections, and provide support.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tables from the triumvirate of support departments advertised a wide variety of resources to assist researchers with their work regardless of their field and method of research. Services and topics that were highlighted included: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/pivot.proquest.com\/funding_main\" target=\"_blank\">Pivot<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sciencv\/\" target=\"_blank\">SciENcv<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/research.temple.edu\/research-administration\/pre-award-management\" target=\"_blank\">Grants Administration<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/research.temple.edu\/research-compliance\" target=\"_blank\">Research Compliance<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/research.temple.edu\/innovation-nest\" target=\"_blank\">Innovation Nest<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/research.temple.edu\/era\" target=\"_blank\">ERA<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/library.temple.edu\/services\/data-management-planning\" target=\"_blank\">research data management, planning and sharing<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/research.temple.edu\/research-compliance\/data-management\/labarchives\" target=\"_blank\">LabArchives<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/guides.temple.edu\/c.php?g=666100&amp;p=4692945\" target=\"_blank\">ORCID<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/scholarshare.temple.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">TUScholarShare<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/library.temple.edu\/services\/support-for-gis-mapping\" target=\"_blank\">GIS and mapping<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/library.temple.edu\/categories\/publishing-services\" target=\"_blank\">publishing suppor<\/a>t, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/library.temple.edu\/services\/qualitative-data-analysis-and-tools\" target=\"_blank\">qualitative data support<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/library.temple.edu\/services\/systematic-review-service\" target=\"_blank\">the evidence synthesis and systematic reviews service<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/its.temple.edu\/microsoft365\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft Teams<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/its.temple.edu\/storage-comparison-chart\" target=\"_blank\">storing data<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/tuportal6.temple.edu\/group\/its\/data-classifications\" target=\"_blank\">HIPAA compliance<\/a>, and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/tuportal6.temple.edu\/group\/its\/information-security\" target=\"_blank\">sharing data with external entities<\/a>.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From conceptualizing research ideas and applying for funding to sharing and preserving research data, support staff were on hand with information and answers to a broad swath of research-related questions. The fifty or so attendees spanned Temple\u2019s schools and campuses, represented researchers from the Fox School of Business, the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication, the College of Public Health, and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.
