{"id":14931,"date":"2015-12-08T16:22:32","date_gmt":"2015-12-08T16:22:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/librarynews\/?p=14931"},"modified":"2015-12-09T22:30:15","modified_gmt":"2015-12-09T22:30:15","slug":"policy-update-lost-long-overdue-and-damaged-books","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/librarynews\/2015\/12\/08\/policy-update-lost-long-overdue-and-damaged-books\/","title":{"rendered":"Policy Update: Lost, Long Overdue and Damaged Books"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Temple Libraries announces an update to its policy regarding the replacement of lost or damaged books:<\/p>\n<p>Effective January 1, 2016 Temple University Libraries will institute the following changes regarding lost and damaged materials.<\/p>\n<p>The replacement fee for a damaged, long overdue or lost book is $100.00 per item.<\/p>\n<p>Replacement copies are no longer accepted.<\/p>\n<p>When long overdue or lost books are returned the $100.00 per item is removed but patrons are still responsible for applicable overdue fines.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that <a href=\"https:\/\/library.temple.edu\/collections\/media\">Media Services<\/a> will continue to accept new, sealed copies of DVDs as replacements, as these items require less staff time to process.\u00a0 Please consult with Media Services staff prior to ordering a replacement to ensure that you are ordering an identical edition to the lost or damaged item.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Temple Libraries announces an update to its policy regarding the replacement of lost or damaged books: Effective January 1, 2016 Temple University Libraries will institute the following changes regarding lost and damaged materials.
