This collection consists of a full 150 reels of primary-source material along with a 73-page printed collection guide. Media types represented include &#8220;clippings, flyers, brochures, conference materials, reports, correspondence, and other printed ephemera&#8221;. The earliest documents date to the 1950s and the era of the Daughters of Bilitis organization. Additional information about the nature of the collection is available from the LHA\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lesbianherstoryarchives.org\/\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Lesbian Herstory Archives complements existing\u00a0<strong>primary-source<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/diamond.temple.edu\/search\/X?SEARCH=%28s%3Agay+or+s%3Aqueer+or+s%3Ahomosex*%29+and+s%3Asources&amp;searchscope=29&amp;b=&amp;j=&amp;m=&amp;Da=&amp;Db=&amp;l=&amp;p=&amp;SORT=D\">printed<\/a>\u00a0and digital collections such as the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/libproxy.temple.edu\/login?url=http:\/\/gerritsen.chadwyck.com\/\">Gerritsen Collection<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/libproxy.temple.edu\/login?url=http:\/\/www.alexanderstreet6.com\/wasm\/index.html\">Women and Social Movements<\/a>. It also complements\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/libproxy.temple.edu\/login?url=http:\/\/proquest.umi.com\/login?COPT=U01EPTYmSU5UPTAmVkVSPTImREJTPTM4M0Q%40&amp;clientId=8673\">GenderWatch<\/a>\u00a0and the new-to-Temple\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/libproxy.temple.edu\/login?url=http:\/\/search.ebscohost.com\/login.aspx?profile=ehost&amp;defaultdb=qth\">LGBT Life<\/a>, two databases that index journal articles and other\u00a0<strong>secondary sources<\/strong>. LGBT Life in particular contains indexing and abstracts for more than 130 LGBT-specific core periodicals and over 290 LGBT-specific core books and reference works.
