Growing up in the Midwest, filmmaker LeAnn Erickson often heard stories of \u2018the old country\u2019 her grandparents had left behind.\u00a0As Erickson travels to Russia, the search for a sense of \u2018place\u2019 sparks a re-examination of her family\u2019s immigrant past. The tape, long forgotten, resurfaced in\u00a01986 and excerpts were used to create <em>Hello from Grandma<\/em>.
