Originally from the small town of Forsyth, Georgia, USA, I graduated from Florida State University in 2018 with a degree in biochemistry and subsequently enrolled at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, USA to work on a master’s degree in biology.
I am a member of the Liberles Research Group (https://sites.temple.edu/liberles/) at Temple U., where my research focuses on computational molecular evolution. In particular, I have been working with David Liberles and Peter Chi (Professor of Statistics at Villanova U.) on developing a statistical method for detecting positive selection in protein sequences. Publication forthcoming!
Outside of the lab, you can find me in one of Philadelphia’s many coffee shops or reading a graphic novel in a park somewhere, weather permitting.
