Community members help one another amidst pandemic

Posted on April 26, 2020 by Kendall Bunch

The city of Pompano Beach feeds 1000 families in need every Thursday.

Local churches, clubs and city council members came together to lift the burden of food disparity off of families’ shoulders.

“I’m always proud of my city,” Mayor Rex Hardin said.

Each family is given a 40 pound box of food that should last them about a week.

Commissioner Tom McMahon said there will be a food drive every week until the pandemic ends.
