Residents across the tri-state area came to Lower Merion High school to pay their respects to former Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant since the news of his passing.
Many fans said they grew up watching Bryant’s career, even as a high school player at Lower Merion. Students at the high school expressed how different it will be for the coaches, faculty and staff that personally knew him.
Bryant’s high school coach, Gregg Downer, said he lost his ‘hero’ and sent a personal message to Bryant’s parents.
“We lost a great one,” Downer said.
