My name is Kate Yeager and I am a first semester senior at Temple University in Philadelphia. I am a Pennsylvania native, born and raised in Delaware County. I have called Philadelphia my home for the past two and a half years. During my fall 2017 semester, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study abroad in Rome, Italy for four months. I have always had an interest in traveling and this was my first big opportunity to do so outside of the United States. You can read about my travels here!
At Temple, I study Strategic Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. During the 2016 Presidential election, I found my passion in politics. I will be interning in Mayor Kenney’s Press Office during the spring 2018 semester. I am eager to get my foot in the door of political communications.
On campus, I work for PRowl Public Relations, Temple’s nationally affiliated student-run public relations firm. This firm has allowed me to take on many different positions and grow professionally within the firm. I started at an entry level position as Account Associate, moved up to Junior Account Executive and will be serving on the executive board this semester as Secretary. I also am a Peer Advisor for the Klein College of Media and Communication. As well as a Big Sister at Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region.
When I am not in class or working, I can be found exploring the food scene in Philadelphia or taking a power nap.
In the future, I see myself living somewhere on the East Coast (hopefully somewhere not too cold), owning many dogs and working a job that I love. Right now, I believe that job will be working in public affairs or on a politician’s communications team.
