There is a window behind her depicting her city with blue skies and no destruction, and the only thing she has to worry about in that moment is the task at hand. My concept that freedom is found in the ability to worry about what makes life enriching, not simply survival. Freedom is found in the ability to participate in the tasks of everyday, something as simple as a woman getting herself ready for the day, and not fearing for your safety or wellbeing because of war, animosity, government repression, etc. The edges of the canvas are painted with the colors of the Palestinian flag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2nd place: “Lady Justice”*<\/strong> Description: <\/strong> This piece attempts to display the complexity and disparity when it comes to the justice system. The scales of justice don\u2019t always work in our favor, and what we have control of, regarding our \u201cfreedom,\u201d isn\u2019t true control at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3rd place: “The Realm of Freedom” Description:<\/strong> In this artwork it describes that you have the freedom to be whoever you want whether you are straight, gay, bisexual, and so on. We are in a different age of society that allows us to be whatever we desire. The third eye on the octopus represents an opening of a new realm of freedom.
