This piece is prose about the power that comes within overcoming an oppressor and reclaiming yourself. Notice the speaker begins the poem referring to herself as \u201ci\u201d and him as \u201cHim\u201d, at the climax she realizes her strength and refers to herself as \u201cI\u201d and him with a lowercase \u201cH\u201d. In current society gun violence, racism, and ultimately hatred are ruining communities and families. Everybody is consumed by capitalism and greed. I ask the question where is justice for society? Why aren&#8217;t we being told the truth?
