Distance

Someone will remember us, I say, even in another time.

Sappho, p. 297

This picture depicts families on the beach this past summer, social distanced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Normally, the beach at this time has many people walking along the waves and sitting with their families and friends. As you can see from this picture, the beach has only a few groups of people, keeping their distance from one another to remain safe during this dangerous time. I often think about how this time will be remembered and studied by people in the future, looking back at how people drastically adjusted their lives during a global pandemic. This picture shows just one of the ways life has changed since it began.
