We again asked Melissa Ginsburg for an inspirational poem and, with <em>Apollo,<\/em> she did not disappoint.<\/p>\n<p>Our ten video artists have reimagined Apollo\u2019s birth, reign, and demise through music, image, and text.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Apollo, by Melissa Ginsburg<\/p>\n<p>Wolf god. Sheep god. God trapped in a mine. God of fields and<\/p>\n<p>flowers. Of pastures and herds. God of exoskeletons. Hunter<\/p>\n<p>and flayer, feeder of snakes. Healer god of arrows, of oracles<\/p>\n<p>you will never figure out. God of colonies and the crying rock.<\/p>\n<p>Unshorn god. Shining god of mice and islands.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wolf of healing. God in the womb already frightening. Killer of<\/p>\n<p>cyclops maker of lightning. God of moderation. Monster of<\/p>\n<p>light. Tender protector. Hunter god liar god. Colonizing god,<\/p>\n<p>god of ships leaving, of sun in the sky, of tunnels and holes, of<\/p>\n<p>sowing a seed. Slayer of Python. God of the deal.<\/p>\n<p>Farm god. Lover god. God of my sister Artemis goddess of that<\/p>\n<p>sleek lens through which I look, the moon. God of ships and a<\/p>\n<p>sun. Supplier god, contract god. Twin god and wave god.<\/p>\n<p>Waving goodbye on the dock and the ship leaving god on a<\/p>\n<p>wave.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>God of the oracle stops. God of compromise and centuries. God<\/p>\n<p>of whispered riddles swallowed on an island. Snake-eaten god.<\/p>\n<p>God of dried up waters, cratering depths. Canyon, erosion,<\/p>\n<p>billowing out. Tributary god cut off from its source. God of the<\/p>\n<p>dry bed, of the cold war. Together with Artemis slayer of<\/p>\n<p>progeny. Husbanding the silver arrows.
