Gertraud Möhwald: Keramik Halle an der Saale: Stiftung Moritzburg 2005
Considered one of the most important contemporary German ceramicists, Gertraud Möhwald (1929–2000) first trained as a stone sculptor in Dresden, then studied sculpture and ceramics at Burg Giebichenstein. In her early career she deviated from the traditional style of functional pottery commonly taught at Burg Giebichenstein. Instead, Möhwald cut, formed, and reformed her objects, combining paper, shards of glass, textiles, and other materials with her clay.
Gertraud Möhwald: Keramikis the catalog that accompanied the traveling exhibition by the same name. The catalog offers the first full list of Möhwald’s works and is the only book at Temple Libraries focused solely on Gertraud Möhwald. It is in both English and German.
