After the funeral, his boyfriend was horrified to learn that police were not even going to investigate the murder. <strong>To them, it was &#8216;just another gay killing&#8217;, and not worth the resources.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeffrey Montgomery was the boyfriend who survived. &#8220;America You Kill Me&#8221; is about his life from the moment of his boyfriend&#8217;s murder. But it is also the story of the fate of progressive leaders who devote their lives to tireless work on behalf of others, and how individuals can impact the lives of those around them. It&#8217;s about the fact that by organizing strategically, with focus, the flame of that influence can be made to grow ever larger. It&#8217;s a story of a period in time when a gay person was a non-person in the eyes of the law.
