We will be focusing on a lecture that introduces his later thought and explains the importance of his philosophical project to the future of &#8220;western civilization.&#8221; For our convienance, we will also read the JHU <em>Guide to Literary Theory and Criticism<\/em>&#8216;s entry on Phenomenology.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Our post-Husserl agenda is to turn to Derrida. JD&#8217;s first book was on Husserl and in subsequent meetings will discuss the importance of Husserlian thought to the early Derrida and then, afterwards, read some of Derrida&#8217;s later work.
