Blockson Collection<\/a> at Temple University present a reading with literary artists and activists Kadija (George) Sesay and Trapeta B. Mayson.\n<\/p>\n<p>Kadija (George) Sesay is the founder and editor of <em>Sable LitMag<\/em>. She is the editor of several anthologies of work by writers of African and Asian descent, and she\u00a0has published her own poetry, short stories, essays and articles in magazines, journals, anthologies and encyclopaedias in the UK, USA and Africa. Her two poetry collections are <em>Irki <\/em>(which means \u2018Homeland\u2019 in the Nubian language) and <em>She Was Once Herself.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Trapeta B. Mayson has been a pillar in the Philadelphia and national poetry communities since the early 1990s. A\u00a0native of Liberia, she immigrated to the United States in 1975, grew up in North Philadelphia, and currently resides in Germantown as part of the Greene Street Artists Cooperative. In partnership with jazz guitarist Monnette Sudler, Trapeta founded Sisters in Music and Poetry.
