Previously, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of New Jersey, where I taught calculus, linear algebra, and discrete math. Before that, I spent a year and a half in Zimbabwe and Cairo, where I volunteered as a math and chess teacher. Prior to that, I was a postdoc at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study and received my PhD in mathematics from the University of Utah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to teaching and thinking about math, I enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking, reading fiction, and strategy games. Recently, I started playing guitar and bouldering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teaching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I teach classes in the calculus sequence as well as upper-level classes such as Basic Concepts of Math and Theoretical Linear Algebra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>My main research interests are in algebraic geometry, which is the study of geometric spaces that can be described as solution sets of polynomial equations in many variables.
