About me

I just joined Temple University in Fall 2023. Previously, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of New Jersey, where I taught calculus, linear algebra, and discrete math. Before that, I spent a year and a half in Zimbabwe and Cairo, where I volunteered as a math and chess teacher. Prior to that, I was a postdoc at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study and received my PhD in mathematics from the University of Utah.

In addition to teaching and thinking about math, I enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking, reading fiction, and strategy games. Recently, I started playing guitar and bouldering.

Teaching

I am currently teaching two sections of Calculus I and one section of Calculus III at Temple University.

Research

My main research interests are in algebraic geometry, which is the study of geometric spaces that can be described as solution sets of polynomial equations in many variables. Recently, I have also worked on interdisciplinary projects studying asymmetry of the human larynx and embodied cognition in communication science.
