My grad student Ashleigh Kirker is trying to understand overland flow and its sources.\u00a0 We tested mapping overland flow with a controlled icewater input using our new drone with a thermal camera.\u00a0 We pumped ice water from a black garbage can onto the hillslope. The drone did a pretty good job of mapping overland flow in grass that otherwise hides the water running downhill (dark area on IR image).\u00a0 Chris Kobol and Susan Spinella-Sacks provided field assistance!<\/p>\n
