{"id":640,"date":"2017-07-26T10:57:31","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T14:57:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/geophysics\/?p=640"},"modified":"2017-07-26T10:59:43","modified_gmt":"2017-07-26T14:59:43","slug":"earth-educators-rendezvous","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/geophysics\/2017\/07\/26\/earth-educators-rendezvous\/","title":{"rendered":"Earth Educator&#8217;s Rendezvous"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/geophysics\/files\/2017\/07\/UNM.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-643\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/geophysics\/files\/2017\/07\/UNM-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/geophysics\/files\/2017\/07\/UNM-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/geophysics\/files\/2017\/07\/UNM-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/geophysics\/files\/2017\/07\/UNM-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year, for the first time, I attended the <a href=\"https:\/\/serc.carleton.edu\/earth_rendezvous\/2017\/index.html\">Earth Educator&#8217;s Rendezvous.<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0Which was held in Albuquerque, at the University of New Mexico, which has a <a href=\"https:\/\/photos.app.goo.gl\/7XU151AD5aZPwi5y2\">lovely campus.<\/a>\u00a0 I presented a lightning talk on <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/geopath\/\">Temple&#8217;s Geopath grant,\u00a0<\/a>and listens to several dozen lightning talks by other Geopath PIs from other institutions, as well as presentations by the NSF Program Director.<\/p>\n<p>I also attended sessions on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/serc.carleton.edu\/earth_rendezvous\/2017\/program\/roundtable\/rt5.html\">Service Learning<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/serc.carleton.edu\/earth_rendezvous\/2017\/program\/morning_workshops\/w9\/index.html\">Geoscience Education Research<\/a> (Quantitative and Qualitative)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/serc.carleton.edu\/earth_rendezvous\/2017\/program\/roundtable\/rt16.html\">Use of InTegrate Curriculum materials<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/serc.carleton.edu\/earth_rendezvous\/2017\/program\/afternoon_workshops\/w12.html\">Developing Student Computation Skills<\/a><\/li>\n<li>&#8230;and several poster sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Overall, it was an enjoyable conference.
