সংরক্ষণ বলতে কোনো কিছু পরবর্তীতে ব্যবহারের জন্যে রেখে দেয়াকে বোঝায়। উদাহরণস্বরুপ, আমি আমার উঠানে বৃষ্টির পানি বালতিতে সংরক্ষণ করতে পারি। বালতি পানি দিয়ে ভরে গেলে, আমি আমার গাছে পানি দিতে পারি।
To save something means to keep it for use later. For example, I can save raindrops in a bucket in my yard. When the bucket is full, I pour the water on my plants.

To waste something is to use more of it than you really need. For example, if you turn off the faucet when you brush your teeth, you won’t waste water.
