Annual Temple Engineers without Borders Gala

On March 29, 2024 Temple Engineers Without Borders hosted their first annual networking and fundraising gala! The gala gave attendees the opportunity to get dressed up and network with students, alumni, and professionals. The evening began with an overview of the club’s mission and work, highlighting both local and international ongoing projects. The presentation emphasized how attendees can contribute to the projects just as all the gala’s proceeds will support these important initiatives.

Additionally, the evening featured two insightful speakers who addressed important topics related to the engineering field, stunning live dance performances, and included a delicious dinner.  The first speaker was Dr. Joseph Hughes from Drexel University who shared his experiences with Peace Engineering and discussed its importance in today’s war-stricken world. Following his talk, Temple’s LatinX student dance team, Esencia Latina performed a few captivating dances. To conclude the program, Dr. Graciela Jaschek from Temple University’s Public Health beyond Borders discussed the importance of cultural competency when participating in international humanitarian projects.

Considering the outstanding feedback and success of the Gala, we plan on continuing the tradition and hosting the Second Annual Engineers without Borders Gala soon! Be sure to follow Temple Engineers Without Borders on social media for updates on our next gala in Spring 2025!
