Alexis Shumate, B.S.
Alexis graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in December 2023 with a B.S. in Psychology and minors in Spanish and Mental Health Services. During her time at MTSU, she worked under Dr. Cyrille Magne, studying neurobiological markers of individual differences in reading abilities, and continued this work following graduation. She also worked as an Admissions Specialist at Monte Nido, where she helped adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders find appropriate care and the right level of treatment for their needs. Her research interests include sleep, affective symptoms, and psychosis.
