JOSH MERVIS, Ph.D., R.Y.T.

Josh is a post-doctoral fellow who received his Ph.D. in Clinical Science and Psychopathology Research at the University of Minnesota and completed a pre-doctoral clinical internship in Serious Mental Illness and Recovery at the Indianapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He received a B.A. with honors in Theater Arts from Brandeis University and worked in the performing arts for several years before completing Columbia University’s post-baccalaureate psychology program. Josh’s research interests are self-assessment of social, cognitive, and metacognitive functioning in persons with psychosis across the lifespan. His clinical interests include Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Metacognitive Reflection and Insight Therapy, and cognitive training using video games. Josh’s teaching interests focus on mindfulness and meditation.
