Disability Studies at Temple University: Community Blog
Disability Studies questions ideas about disability, for example, the ideas of “normal,” and “dis-order.” Disability Studies uses critical theory to analyze origins and hierarchies of differences in bodies and minds and how they are embedded and encoded in institutions, policies, philosophies, culture, and traditions.
This blog is a space for the Temple Community to critically explore disability, challenge antiquated able-ist notions and promote disability justice.
Disability Studies at Temple University
Disability Studies includes a four-course, 12-credit Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies. Additionally, Disability Studies at Temple is a community of people interested in Disability as a lived experience. This community powered our annual Disability and Change Symposium, the Interdisciplinary Faculty Council on Disabilities, and more. See what else we have to offer.
