This study will involve one visit to our lab at Temple&#8217;s main campus in North Philadelphia. Children will wear an EEG cap and play with different toys, sometimes with their caregiver and sometimes playing alone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For compensation, the caregiver will receive a $50 giftcard and the child will get to choose a book. At 14-months, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">there is an in-person lab visit where infants will do some activities wearing an EEG cap (similar to a baby swim cap) and also some grasping tasks. Families have the opportunity to get paid up to $170 for participation in this study.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recruitment for this study has ended.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do we do with all these caregiver-recorded videos? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use kinematic (movement tracking) analysis to understand how the hand and fingers move and how that changes over time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does this look like? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"682\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 854 \/ 682;\" width=\"854\" controls src=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/devscilab\/files\/2022\/05\/TrHandy-Tracking-Vid.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"682\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 854 \/ 682;\" width=\"854\" controls src=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/devscilab\/files\/2022\/05\/Trhandy-tracking-vid2.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: large\">Previous Undergraduate<\/span><\/b><strong> Study<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our undergraduate study focused on motor experience and the neural representations of the fingers. Participants completed a typing test, a measure of finger independence, and a few questions about video game and musical instrument experience. They then watch a documentary while wearing an EEG cap and finger stimulators on their right hand. By analyzing the brain&#8217;s responses to different fingers, we can investigate the neural representations of the fingers. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This study has ended. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr
