Follow these steps to move from an Emergency Permit to a permanent CTE certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Emergency Permit<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While teaching under an Emergency Permit<\/strong>,<\/a> you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Complete all onboarding requirements<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Complete the OCA exams or credential review.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Submit the Certification Request for Audit<\/strong> online form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Apply for the Experience-Based Certificate<\/a><\/strong> through TIMS.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Certificate Validity:<\/strong>
    The C&T Experience-Based Certificate is valid for 5 calendar years<\/strong> from the date it is issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 2: Experience-Based Certificate<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    While teaching under an Experience-Based Certificate<\/a><\/strong>, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Complete all required coursework and assessments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Submit the Certification Request for Audit<\/strong> online form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Apply for the C&T Instructional I Certificate<\/a><\/strong> through TIMS.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Certificate Validity:<\/strong>
      The C&T Instructional I Certificate is valid for 8 years of service<\/strong> from the date it is issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n\n\n\n

      Step 3: C&T Instructional I Certificate<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      While teaching under a C&T Instructional I Certificate<\/a><\/strong>, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Complete all required coursework and assessments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Complete 3 years of satisfactory teaching<\/strong> while holding the C&T Instructional I Certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Submit the Certification Request for Audit<\/strong> online form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Apply for the C&T Instructional II Certificate<\/strong> through TIMS.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Certificate Validity:<\/strong>
        The C&T Instructional II Certificate is valid for 99 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Undergraduate Courses<\/a> – an undergraduate is anyone entering the CTE program without having a bachelors degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Graduate Courses<\/a> – a graduate is anyone entering the CTE program with a bachelors degree<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        ALT Grad Courses <\/a>– an alt grad is anyone who has an instructional certification and is going from a traditional academic classroom to a CTE classroom<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        BCITE\/ME Courses<\/a> – Business, Computer and Information Technology Education and Marketing Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n
