On May 29, 1981, a video\/phone transmission took place between two groups:
my video workshop at UCLA,\nwith students and fellows from the Center for
Advanced Visual Studies at MIT — coordinated by Antonio Muntadas.\nThe event
was conceived as a research project to explore a video\/phone system and to
develop and evaluate\nits use in an arts and communication context. The event
