There is the Solenoidal Track at RHIC (STAR) Detector that analyzes the events coming from the collision vertex. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proton as it is known now is not a fundamental particle but contains quarks and gluons and have 3 quarks in the valence region (up, up, down). There is also a sea of quark-antiquark pairs that are produced from gluons. The interactions between quarks can produce weakly interacting vector bosons such as W<sup>+<\/sup>, W<sup>&#8211;<\/sup>, Z and bosons.
