Dear Colleagues,
It is my great honor to share with you the inaugural annual report for the Continuing Education and Program Development Unit (CEPD) under Temple University’s University College. This newly created unit was established in December 2024 as part of a strategic reorganization process to convene University College’s noncredit-focused units under one umbrella. By uniting these teams, CEPD will spark collaboration and innovation, strengthen our impact, and position University College to better meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve. Together, this team is wholeheartedly committed to fostering communities for lifelong learning and advancing evidence-based practices in community health, criminal justice, education, the public and private sectors, and public policy across the commonwealth and beyond.
In this report, you will find data and stories that bring our work to life. As we reflect on the last year, I am filled with pride for what we’ve accomplished. In addition to navigating the reorganization, the team remained committed to implementing innovative and impactful projects that transformed CEPD’s vision into action. Some key highlights and accomplishments of this year include developing a strategic framework to shape CEPD’s identity and priorities, expanding our national presence through new partnerships and sponsored projects, and providing impactful educational and professional development programming to diverse learners across the globe.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the dedication, flexibility, and expertise of our team, our Temple University colleagues, and the unwavering support of our partners, clients, donors, community, and stakeholders. A reorganization of this scale has its challenges, but it is not without its rewards. New opportunities are already emerging for this new team, opening the door for fresh ideas, innovation, and endless possibilities. As we look ahead, we are excited to build on this momentum and advance Temple University’s mission and strategic priorities through expanded course offerings, new educational courses and products, cross-departmental collaboration, and strategic investments that support the communities we serve.
Thank you for being part of this journey. We look forward to working with you as we learn, grow, and lead together.
With gratitude,
Richard Albrecht
